Victorian illustration to download showing a picture of a royal visit to a pen factory, where women workers are operating a stamping press to slit the pen nibs. This was a visit by the Prince and Princess of Wales to Gillott’s factory in Birmingham, 1874. Gillott’s was a highly successful business, employing 450 people and producing a total of 5 tons of nibs per week.
