Underground railway junction

Victorian illustration to download showing a picture of the Metropolitan Underground Railway (the world’s first) under construction at a junction in 1861. Navvies lead horses pulling waggons, and one tunnel is supported by shuttering. This is the junction at King’s Cross with the Great Northern Railway.
