Railway goods shed

Victorian illustration to download showing a picture of a vast railway goods shed. Bales, crates and barrels are brought here by horse and cart and by barge, and loaded on railway trucks by cranes. This is the Great Northern Railway’s London terminus at Battle Bridge. At the time of this illustration (1853) it was the largest in Britain.
