Victorian illustration to download showing prisoners playing rackets (fives) and bowls in the courtyard of Fleet Prison, London, a notorious debtors’ prison, in the 18th century. In 1776 John Howard, the prison reformer, counted 273 prisoners and 475 wives and children in the Fleet. This prison was demolished in 1846.
