Victorian illustration showing a potter in a porcelain factory throwing vessels on his wheel, helped by two boys. One boy, the ball-maker, forms balls of the right size for the vessel being made from a large lump of clay. The other boy, the wheel-turner, rotates a large wheel with a rope attached to it which turns the potter’s wheel. This scene was sketched at the Royal Porcelain Works, Worcester, 1843.
