Victorian illustration to download showing crowds in the street outside the offices of the Illustrated London News at the corner of the Strand and Milford Lane. Pushing, jostling men and boys struggle to get into a side door; some leave, having succeeded in getting piles of the magazine to distribute and sell. Others, including a group of Chinese men, gather at the windows to look at the display of illustrations. A placard advertises a special Great Exhibition issue of the magazine to be published in French and German as well as English. At this time (1851) the circulation of the ILN was well over 200,000 copies a week.
