Observatory interior

Victorian illustration to download showing a picture of the interior of a small observatory. A telescope points up to a gap in the domed roof; below it is an adjustable chair for the astronomer. This observatory was first erected in 1836 near Regents Park by George Bishop, President of the Royal Astronomical Society; it was re-erected in the 1860s in Twickenham by his son.
