Medieval Apothecary (druggist) in his Workroom

Victorian picture (from a painting by Henry Stacy Marks) showing a medieval apothecary (druggist) in his workroom. From the ceiling hang various stuffed creatures, including a crocodile; on shelves, a dresser, a table and the flagstone floor are animal bones and skulls, glass and pottery jars, books, bunches of herbs and a pestle and mortar. The apothecary holds a container to the light.
