Huge steam roller

This steam roller was supplied to Liverpool in 1867. It was made by Aveling & Porter of Rochester and Strood, Kent. Thomas Aveling, an agricultural engineer and steam roller manufacturer, formed a partnership with Richard Porter in 1862. The company became the largest manufacturer of steam rollers in the world.
