Dancing the quadrille

Victorian illustration to download showing a reproduction of a print of two smart society couples dancing the quadrille, 1815. This print showed the first quadrille danced at Almack’s, an exclusive club and assembly rooms; in about 1815 the waltz and the quadrille came into fashion and began to replace country dances and Scottish reels.
