Clearing bracken

Victorian illustration showing a man and boy clearing bracken (?ferns) from a sloping grassy field. They load the bracken on a sleigh pulled by two horses. Their dog, a lurcher, watches. In the background is a hilly landscape. This illustration was engraved from ‘Sleighing Ferns’, a painting by Henry Moore (1831-95), landscape and marine painter. It was exhibited at the Portland Gallery in 1860.
