Animal skeletons in museum

Victorian illustration to download showing a picture of animal skeletons in the Hall of the Museum of the Royal College of Surgeons, built in the 1850s. In the galleries above are shelves of glass bottles containing specimens. In the background is the skeleton of the elephant Chuny, brought to England aged 20 in 1810 – he appeared in pantomime at Covent Garden and was exhibited at a menagerie in Exeter.
